Alain Flammang named as new CEO of RTL Group Technical Division

Luxembourg, 8 November 2001. - Alain Flammang has been appointed as the new CEO of RTL Group Technical Division. He succeeds Mike Southgate who is leaving the company. In his new role, Flammang will assume the general management of RTL’s broadcasting centres and will be responsible for the technical operations in Luxembourg, London and Cologne.

Under Southgate’s leadership, RTL Group merged its four technical service providers Broadcasting Centre Europe, CBC Cologne Broadcasting Centre, Vidéo Communication France and London Playout Centre (formerly Pearson Television UK Operations).

“We will continue the process that Mike Southgate started in 2000”, explains Flammang. “We will further reinforce RTL Group Technical Division through greater integration and innovation, focusing on building on existing synergies.”

RTL Group Technical Division delivers a comprehensive range of technical services for the playout of television channels, radio stations as well as studio and outdoor production. The large and diversified customer portfolio includes RTL Group clients and business partners outside the Group.

RTL Group Technical Division has become the first pan-European supplier for TV and radio station services. The division has 1050 employees and generated a revenue of Euro 192 million in 2000. The headquarters are located in Luxembourg.
