RTL Group acquires the remaining shareholding in RTL Hrvatska

Luxembourg/Zagreb, 25 July 2011 – RTL Group, the leading European entertainment network, today announces that it has reached agreements with its Croatian business partners, Atlantic and Agrokor. RTL Group will acquire their respective 13 per cent shareholdings in the Croatian broadcasting operation RTL Hrvatska (RTL Televizija, RTL 2). Atlantic and Agrokor will keep a seat in the Supervisory Board of RTL Hrvatska.

The free-to-air channel RTL Televizija was launched in 2003. Since then, RTL Group has increased its initial shareholding of 33 per cent in several steps to 74 per cent in 2006. In 2010, RTL Televizija remained the market leader in the main commercial target group of viewers aged 18 to 49, reporting an audience share of 24.5 per cent. The company’s second channel, RTL 2, went on air in January 2011.
