CLT-UFA and Twentieth Century Fox have concluded an Output Deal

On January 18, CLT-UFA and 20th Century Fox, in which News Corp. is a majority shareholder, concluded an output deal.
This agreement is to guarantee the supply of content by 20th Century Fox for a duration of five years. CLT-UFA has acquired, among others, the rights to such products as ANNA AND THE KING starring Jodie Foster, THE BEACH starring Leonardo DiCaprio, ME, MYSELF AND IRENE, from the producers of SOMETHING ABOUT MARY, and X-MEN, the highly anticipated live action version of the popular comic books.
In addition all future 20th Century Fox television programming will be included in this agreement. Fox produces hit shows such as the X-Files, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Ally McBeal and the Simpsons.
The deal is subject to the approval of the relevant bodies of CLT-UFA and 20th Century Fox.
Through this agreement between CLT-UFA and 20th Century Fox, the supply of all CLT-UFA channels with first class American feature films and series will be further expanded and the Group’s position in the field of content further strengthened. CLT-UFA also holds the rights to the output of Disney and MCA/Universal.
CLT-UFA is the number 1 in European broadcasting, with shareholdings in 40 radio and television stations, most of which are market leaders (RTL Television in Germany, RTL Radio in France, HMG in the Netherlands). CLT-UFA also holds interests in numerous production and broadcasting rights distribution companies (including UFA Film and TV Productions in Germany and UFA Sports in Europe). In Germany's commercial TV market, CLT-UFA is majority owner of market leader RTL, holding a 35.9% stake in RTL II and 50% in Super RTL.
