SHARE TRANSFER AGREEMENT CLT-UFA AND VERENIGING VERONICA
Veronica radio and TV will stay within the Holland Media Groep
Luxembourg, 3rd of May 2000. In the course of the negotiations between VERENIGING VERONICA and CLT-UFA, an agreement has been reached today. The result of this agreement is that CLT-UFA acquires the 35% stake of VERENIGING VERONICA in Holland Media Groep. On the other hand, VERENIGING VERONICA acquires the 20% share held by CLT-UFA in the programme magazine Veronica Blad.
As a result of the agreement, HMG will retain the TV station Veronica, the radiostation Veronica FM and the right to use the brand name Veronica until September 2001.
Jean-Charles de Keyser, Executive Vice President TV and Radio of CLT-UFA, says: ‘Through this acquisition, CLT-UFA consolidates its position in another key European media territory. At the same time, HMG is secured with a strong partner in the field of content and distribution’.
CLT-UFA is the leading European broadcasting group with shareholdings in 40 radio and television stations, most of which are market leaders (RTL Television in Germany, RTL Radio in France, HMG in the Netherlands). CLT-UFA also holds interests in numerous production and broadcasting rights distribution companies (including UFA Film and TV Productions in Germany and UFA Sports in Europe).
