RTL Group increases stake in Croatian TV channel RTL Televizija
Luxembourg, 24 June 2004 – RTL Group, Europe’s leading broadcaster and content provider, has reached an agreement with Pinta TV3, a shareholder in RTL Televizija, to acquire Pinta TV3’s 25 % stake in the Zagreb-based tv channel. Under the terms of the agreement, RTL Group’s shareholding in RTL Televizija increases from 33 to 58 %.
The Croatian regulatory authorities today approved the acquisition.
RTL Televizija, launched on 30 April 2004, achieved the leading market position in its first full month of operations *. The programming schedule of the tv channel includes news (“RTL Vijesti”), movies, sitcoms and local productions (“Sanja”, daily talk show; “Veto”, quiz show and “RTL Dolazi”, entertainment).
Gerhard Zeiler, Chief Executive Officer of RTL Group, says: “With this increase, we demonstrate our strong belief in the potential of RTL Televizija.”
